We had an amazing day exploring Denali National Park. We spotted several Grizzly Bears - including a Mama bear with her cubs; Golden Eagles; Moose; Caribou; Dall Sheep; Wolves; Magpies; Harriers and Ground squirrels. We were also able to see both the South and North Peaks of Mt. McKinley! -Molly

Denali at last
After our 8 hour train ride through the beautiful landscape from Anchorage to Denali National Park, we hit the Canyon Lodge in the McKinley Chalet for some B & B.
Kevin and Ron are enjoying a cold Alaskan IPA; Molly an Alaskan Amber; Jane the usual; Leah and Anna an Alaskan Pepsi and Sprite.
It's a refreshing 58 deg. F outside and a comfortable 70 in.
Tomorrow, we conquer the south summit.

Juneau what's wrong with this picture?
Soon to board a plane from Juneau to Anchorage. Let's hope they keep their jets in better order than the terminal. (Yes, it is under renovation...).

Bartlett Cove National Park
We had some extra time on the cruise ship, so we stopped at Glacier Bay National Park. We went for a hike at Bartlett Cove. There were lots of trees and unique plants that I had never seen before. It was really cool.

Margerie Glacier
We arrived at the Margerie Glacier at 6am yesterday morning. It is located at the far north end of Glacier Bay National Park. What a way to start the day! It was very cold and very quiet. We spent the rest of the day seeing glaciers, whales, sea lions, otters and even a brown bear. -Molly

Visiting Skagway, this Rogue-like woman asked to have her picture taken with me. I reluctantly replied, "You Betcha!"

Mount Roberts Tramway - Juneau
Here we are at approximately 1800 feet above Juneau. We rode the cable car/Tram up to this level, hiked another mile up and enjoyed the views - Absolutely beautiful! That is Douglas Island and the Gastineau Channel in the background.

Just for the Halibut
Kevin, Scott and Ron went charter fishng today. Caught 3 king salmon, 9 silver salmon and one 200 pound halibut. Ron reeled it in in 30 minutes. Any one out there have any good halibut recipes?
Jane now is a halibut fan The thing was 6 feet long. They had to shoot it twice to get it on board and took both the captain and the hand to haul it over the side.
